FINDING BEAUTY

This is a great film.
He has the perfect demeanor for his job. Jimmy Stewart with a camera and a bike. I think this was the last night here but I'm sure it will resurface.
I always thought no person could ever love doing something as much as my dog Alice loves getting the ball. But I think Bill Cunningham might love taking pictures of clothes just as much. Its his ball.

DADA

Hugo has been especially smitten with his dad lately. As my man leaves for the next week or so, I wonder when Hugo will start missing us as much as we miss him when we travel.

INSTEAD OF BUYING POTASSIUM IODIDE

Give money to Japan
My friend writes this for the New York Times and it seems to be a good list.

"tokyo is kinda safe...but still swaying....

Japan, I will always love you.

    Tomoo Gokita

Watching the details of this overwhelming tragedy, I wonder how my friends there are, how we can help, and how we can even comprehend what they must be going through. The loss.

I keep revisiting my time there these last few days.
The lifelong friends I've made, the million cigarettes I smoked. I fell in love there once. no twice.
I went to crazy parties and the quiet countryside, I hiked down a mountain in the dark, chased the Bozozoku on their motorcycles, and ate octopus from the fish markets at 3 in the  morning.
The graciousness of the people I encountered. The frustration with never being told no.
The old and the new colliding so well. The country astounds me.
